Every year, the Dutch ministry of Foreign Affairs awards the Human Rights Tulip to a human rights defender who promotes and supports human rights in innovative ways.
The candidates that participate in the election for the Human Rights Tulip 2014 have been announced and the public voting has started today. You can vote on a candidate until October 10 on www.humanrightstulip.nl.
In addition, we kindly ask you to invite people within your network to support their favourite candidate and vote on the same website.
A toolbox with a number of campaign tools has been developed for supporting the candidates. The toolbox contains digital banners, posters, a promotion video and background information on the Human Rights Tulip. You can download the toolbox on http://www.podium.nl/download.php?id=1411742092.
The award will be presented to the winner on December 9 by the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs in The Hague. The winner gains global recognition for the important and innovative work being done.
