>> Interview: Malu S. Marin

Malu S. Marin was one of the participants of the Inter-Regional Dialogue on Sexuality and Geopolitics, organized by Sexuality Policy Watch (SPW) in late September 2011, to discuss some of the outcomes of the Regional Dialogues which were held in Asia, Latin America and Africa. Since 2000, she has been Executive Director of ACHIEVE – Action for Health Initiatives, an organization which works on issues addressing gender, sexuality, reproductive health, migration, as well as human rights and HIV and AIDS in the Philippines. >> Interview: Cai Yiping and Pei Yuxin

In late September 2011, SPW promoted an Inter-Regional Dialogue about Sexuality and Geopolitics. Cai Yiping, a feminist activist based in Beijing, who is a member of the Executive Committee of DAWN – Development Alternatives with Woman for a New Era, and Pei Yuxin, assistant Professor of the Department of Social Work, Sun Yat-sen University (in Guangzhou) have also participated. They were interviewed by SPW team and shared their knowledge of sexuality research, activism and related public debates in China. Read the interview.

>> Intersections and challenges for the sexual politics in Latin America, Africa and Asia: notes on the Inter-regional Dialogue on Sexuality and Politics

From September 26 to 29 2011, SPW organized the Inter-Regional Dialogue on Sexuality and Politics, in Rio de Janeiro, gathering researchers and activist members of the global forum, as well as people involved with the Regional Dialogues on Sexuality and Geopolitics, which took place in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Approximately 25 participants attended the meeting, proposing a debate on the main outcomes and a cross analysis of the Regional Dialogues, highlighting main issues, trends and challenges for the sexual politics in these regions, and also trying to identify some intersection points and forward-looking questions. >> SPW organized a series of Regional Dialogues on Sexuality and Geopolitics

SPW organized a series of Regional Dialogues on Sexuality and Geopolitics, to convene in Asia (Vietnam, April 2009), Latin America (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 2009) and Africa (Lagos, Nigeria, October 2010). Inspired by the studies that form the e-book SexPolitics: Reports from the Front Lines, the Regional Dialogues aimed at expanding the knowledge and understanding that emerged from this previous research efforts and to more organically articulate global analysis and regional and national processes of research and activism.  The dialogues provided a venue to discuss and think more deeply and complexly about shifts in the geopolitical landscape of the politics of sexuality.
